MCCS is reducing its footprint in a way that continues to support the operating forces but reduces the risk of disease transmission. Anticipate modifications to the changes detailed below if the MCCS workforce is unavailable or MCIEAST guidance changes. This curtailment plan seeks to maximize a healthy MCCS workforce, thus maximizing both support to the operating forces and preservation of the installation’s medical capacity. The goal is to transition back to normal operations as soon as directed by MCIEAST. Please adhere to all social distancing instructions.
The Child and Youth Program (CYP) facilities (two school age care facilities and seven child development centers) will be closed for regular operations effective Monday, 23 March with the exception of the Heroes Manor I, Heroes Manor II, and New River child development centers. These three child development centers will provide service to registered and full-time enrolled children of parents who are deemed essential or critical personnel (either as healthcare professionals. emergency responders, or by commander approval). Parents are being notified by letter. Hours of operation will be dictated by hours of essential functions of the families utilizing care, but will not exceed 0530 to 1800. Regular child care fees will apply for care up to 50 hours of care per week. An overage fee of $5 per hour will apply in fifteen minute increments for care offered in excess of 50 hours per week, per child. Care will be offered to a limited number of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old utilizing a maximum capacity for health and safety via social distancing. Children in care must be symptom-free from any illness.
|For safety, all locations have restricted the number of customers allowed in the barber shops at any one time. This will allow for social distancing. Patrons should be aware that this may cause some customers to wait outside of the barber shop until there is a space available in the waiting area. Additionally, barbers will ensure equipment is sanitized between clients.
To accommodate anticipated increase in demand, additional barbers will be on duty and the hours of operation will be increased at some Barber Shops effective Saturday, March 28. All other locations will continue to observe their regular hours of operation. View hours of operation at www.mccslejeune-newriver.com/barber.
*Barber Shops will be open to active duty service members only on Sunday and Monday. All active duty service members will have priority over non-active duty patrons the remainder of the week.
