Spring Youth Sports Programs

Youth Sports Spring Registration Feb 1-19, 2016

MCAS Complex for MCAS Teams
Track 5-15 Practices/Meets at Liversedge Track
Golf 8-15 Conducted by Paradise Point Golf Course

Age Limits
  • Baseball/Track Fundamental Division: CO-ED Ages 5-9; Competitive Division: CO-ED Ages 10 AND UP
  • Tee-ball : Child must be 5 on or before May 1, 2016, and cannot be 7 on or before this date.
  • Baseball : Child must be 7 on or before May 1, 2016, and cannot be 15 on or before this date.
  • Track : Child must be 5 on or before May 1, 2016, and cannot be 16 on or before this date.
  • Golf : Child must be 8 on or before May 1, 2016, and cannot be 16 on or before this date.

Pricing
Feb 1 to Feb 19: $30 plus $5 uniform fee**  
After Feb 19: $35 plus $5 uniform fee**
(space available basis after this date)

*Due to historically low registration numbers in the 13 & 14 age division, names of interested players will be taken in an effort to form a team to participate in the City of Jacksonville’s league. Travel within Onslow County and week-night play would be required.

**NEW this season! All participants will receive a youth sports uniform shirt to keep (and ball caps for baseball)

Youth Sports NYSCA certification clinics
Youth Sports will conduct an NYSCA certification clinic for spring MCCS Lejeune-New River volunteer youth coaches at the Camp Lejeune Youth Sports office (Bldg. 1985), located on Stone St., on Saturday, March 12. The clinic will start promptly at 9 AM and ends at noon. Spring youth sports programming includes: baseball, track, and golf.

All volunteer youth coaches must be NYSCA certified prior to taking on coaching duties with MCCS Lejeune-New River Youth Sports. Participants must sign up in person or via phone at either youth sports office by noon on March 11.

Tarawa Terrace Youth Ball Fields
The Tarawa Terrace 1 (TT1) entrance was permanently closed on Wednesday, 5/27/15. As a result, the TT youth ball fields can only be access via (TT2) gate or the Wilson Gate. From one of those entry points, patrons can make their way to the gate formerly known as the TT1 gate and enter the youth ball fields.

**Access is prohibited from walking through the cement barriers via HWY 24.

From Tarawa Blvd (TT2 gate):
Takes you directly to the former TT1 gate; no need to make any turns until you reach the complex.

From Wilson gate:
Take Bougainville Dr. – turn RIGHT onto Tarawa Blvd --- follow until you reach the former TT1 entrance Destination will be on right.
